PITTSBURGH – An Uber driver is accused of harassment and kidnapping after allegedly detaining two women in their vehicle against their will early Saturday morning.
Richard Lomotey, 36, is charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of unlawful imprisonment and two counts of harassment.

According to the criminal complaint, Lomotey was driving for Uber and taking the women from Homewood to Penn Hills.
Police said that he was moving away from the road on his Uber app. According to the criminal complaint, he parked the car near the intersection of South Homewood Avenue and Penn Avenue, locked the doors, and then told the women, "You're not going anywhere."

Both women managed to escape. They identified him to the police using their Uber app.
According to Penn State-Beaver, Lomotey is an adjunct professor but has been on leave as a result of "deeply troubling" allegations. Uber called the alleged actions "unacceptable" and said that his access to the application had been removed.
