PITTSBURGH WEATHER: Winter weather forecast in effect for parts of the region when snow is moving

PITTSBURGH – A winter weather advisory is in effect for Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties, as well as for ridges, until 9 am Friday.

Keep your winter gear and snow shovels on hand when two snowmakers move into the area in the next few days.

The first system brings light snow tonight early Friday, with enough snow to create possible delays on Friday morning.

The strongest storm moves on Sunday, bringing the threat of stable snow Monday morning.

Currently, the weather meteorological team is monitoring the risk of several inches of snow, which could be one of our biggest snowstorms of the season.
