Pixel 5 sold out on the US Google Store in the middle of Black Friday

Google kicked off Black Friday week last Sunday by slashing the Pixel 5 to $ 649. The main US store seems to be struggling to keep them in stock as the Pixel 5 has run out of stock on and off over the past 24 hours.

At $ 50 off, the Pixel 5 hasn’t been significantly reduced from previous years. Then again, the phone is already cheaper than recent flagship devices from Google.

Some have criticized the perceived lack of a good Black Friday deal, but that apparently hasn’t stopped others from buying the phones. On Friday, the unlocked Just Back – oddly enough – first fell out of stock, and Sorta Sage followed suit a day later.

Earlier today, both phones came in and sold out. But as of tonight (PT) they have been consistently sold for the last few hours.

The Google Fi variant is still available, but doesn’t have the $ 50 price cut. This unlocked deal is scheduled to end on November 30, so it’s possible that Google will restock the depleted Pixel 5 by Cyber Monday to let more people take advantage of the sale. Once back in stock, if you cannot place an order, try to review the page every half hour or so.

Elsewhere, Just Black is still in stock on Amazon at $ 649, while Sorta Sage won’t be available until next month.

The Pixel 5 is powered by a Snapdragon 765G with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The 6-inch 1080 x 2340 90Hz OLED stands out with its very minimal and uniform bezel. This is achieved by a puncher for the 8MP front camera and the use of a speaker below the screen for calls / audio.

There’s an aluminum casing, but it’s coated with what Google calls a “bioresin” material – plastic. This design implementation allows for wireless charging – of the 4000 mAh battery, with the coating available in two colors. On the camera side, Google has opted for an ultra-wide 16MP lens to join the 12.2MP sensor.
