A plane crashed into a building in Connecticut, authorities said Thursday.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) told The Hill in a statement that a Cessna Citation 560X business jet crashed around 10 a.m. local time into a building on Hyde Road in Farmington, Connecticut, at around 10 a.m. , local hour.
The plane took off from Robertson Field Airport in Plainville, Connecticut, and was heading for the Dare County Regional Airport in Manteo, North Carolina. The agency said four people were on board.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
The Farmington Police Department said residents should avoid the area so emergency crews can evacuate it.

A video sent to WTNH and shared on Twitter showed the building on fire and smoke billowing.

The plane crashed into a building owned by the Trumpf machinery manufacturing company, Farmington Police Lt. Tim Mckenzie told reporters.
Witnesses reported the plane had “some kind of problem in the air” before it crashed, McKenzie said. The plane struck the ground first, then struck the building.
All Trumpf employees are unofficially counted, and McKenzie said the department does not currently “believe” that there have been any injuries among its employees.
McKenzie said no one had been taken to hospital.
Several fire departments are currently on the scene, McKenzie said.
