CLEVELAND – An American Airlines flight to Cleveland on Saturday afternoon suffered a frightening setback after the windshield shattered mid-flight, according to American Airlines and TMZ.

The flight, which took off from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport around 1:30 p.m., was in the air for about 30 minutes before a mechanical issue with the windshield occurred and required the flight to return to the airport American Airlines said.

American Airlines said the plane landed safely and taxed to the boarding gate without incident, and after changing planes, departed for Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.

No injuries to any customers or crew members have been reported, American Airlines said.
