Platform is a ‘scapegoat’ for Biden’s vaccine failure

The war of words between President Biden and Facebook is escalating – as the social media giant has claimed the platform has become a “scapegoat” for the pandemic failures of the Biden administration.

“The White House is looking for scapegoats for having missed its vaccine targets”, an anonymous executive NBC News reporter Dylan Byers told Friday.

The angry response came shortly after Biden accused Facebook of insufficiently censoring anti-vaccine posts.

“They’re killing people,” Biden told reporters on Friday afternoon, when asked about his message for the company. “The only pandemic we have is among the unvaccinated. And they kill people.

Biden’s accusation came as White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the Biden administration was “in regular contact” with Facebook regarding efforts to promote his favorite “stories” on COVID -19.

The explanation extended to Psaki’s Thursday admission that the White House is “reporting problematic messages” to Facebook for censorship, which sparked an uproar among First Amendment supporters.

Facebook released a measured official statement on Biden’s harsh rebuke on Friday, saying they “are not supported by the facts.”

But behind the scenes, executives for the administration’s longtime ally appeared to be seething.

“In private exchanges, the Surgeon General praised our work, including our efforts to educate people about COVID-19,” the anonymous insider told Byers. “They knew what they were doing.”
