UN J. Haefele, was born in Aurora, Colorado, grew up in Katy, Texas. She is editor-in-chief of avalanches and editor-in-chief of BSN Denver.

Education: UN J. studied at Stephen F. Austin State University before returning to Colorado in 2009.

Career: Prior to joining BSN Denver, A.J. wrote and ran the popular Avalanche blog, Mile High Hockey. UN J. started contributing in 2010 with detailed practice reports, training camp coverage and in-depth analysis of the Colorado Division's enemies. He would broaden his horizons with free agency analysis, preliminary coverage and more daily looks at the team before retaking the blog as co-editorial director. The position was short-lived before BSN Denver came to call.

Most memorable sporting moment: Ray Bourque won the Stanley Cup in 2001. John Elway winning his first Super Bowl is very close, but Bourque winning the Cup and finishing "Mission 16W" is one of the best stories of all sports.

The best sports book I've ever read: Big fan of "Moneyball". The implications for sport and the internal view of how an organization changed attitudes to exploit market inefficiency were fascinating.

A sports film without which I could not live: There are not really any of those that I do not like. Grand League and Cool Runnings were my favorites in my childhood, but Miracle and Goon were my favorites as an adult. I can not live without the Rocky movies and now Creed.

Most memorable experience as a journalist: Covering the 2017 NHL Entry Draft was a dream come true for me. I always wanted to attend a draft and I did it while covering the team by picking fourth place in the overall standings. To question Cale Makar after his selection is something I will never forget.

The sport that started everything: Baseball! My father was a big fan of baseball and when the Rockies were born, it was an instant bond for both of us and created a sporting fanaticism that has characterized most of my life.
