Player Rating: Crystal Palace 0-0 Manchester United

[ad_1]

Player ratings of anything.

Dean Henderson: 8/10

Huge save on Van Aanholt at the end of the exact situation David De Gea was guilty recently gives credence to the idea that United would have lost with the Spaniard in there.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 5/10

I don’t know how he let Van Aanholt pass at the end. I have made good progress, but the simple act of whipping the crosses will never be very effective.

Eric Bailly: 4/10

A reckless challenge led to Fred giving a free kick. On the ball … woof. Someone needs to let him know he can move on to players not named Maguire.

Harry Maguire: 5/10

The enemies will remember Bruno’s terrible pass at the start of the first half. They will forget about the other good things he did in the first half when Crystal Palace was playing well. Completely silent in the second half.

Luke Shaw: 6/10

The only positive point for Manchester United. You can’t count on him to carry the team.

Fred: 4/10

He tried ambitious forward passes and I can’t remember a single one that was actually completed.

Nemanja Matic: 5/10

Covered the defense well and was the only midfielder to really try to advance with the ball. Obviously it didn’t work because he’s not good at it, but he was the only one with the right mindset.

Bruno Fernandes: 3/10

Oh, did he play this game?

Mason Greenwood: 4/10

Didn’t really have an impact. I don’t know why he never really traded with Rashford.

Marcus Rashford: 3/10

If he saw two defenders in front of him, there was a 100% chance he would try to dribble through them. Never succeeded. Fans brag about his scoring record but seem to forget how often he goes missing in these types of games.

Edinson Cavani: 2/10

Great movement in the box, but what if you can’t get the ball close to the box? “At least the other forwards will learn to move like him,” we continue to say as we continue to watch Rashford and Greenwood stagnate. Cavani continues to offer nothing in the building set and against a deep block you need the input of the 10 outfielders. I had a chance at poachers early on and of course I missed it. At least Dan James is learning to move around the box.

Scott McTominay: N / A

I still don’t understand how he didn’t shoot that ball right after he arrived.

Dan James: N / A

He ran well and was sort of the only player to open up in the box on a cross. Not what you want.

Director

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: 2/10

Difficult to pin all that on him. Injuries meant he didn’t really have much of a choice with the starting XI and all of a sudden you’re looking at a team completely devoid of creativity. It looked a lot like last season when Paul Pogba was injured. Two rainy midfielders at risk, no wing creativity and no option to get off the bench. United have good players, but each of them have very obvious limits and these will all be revealed when the players who help cover those limits are taken out.
