The Playmobil USS Enterprise has a saucer section that opens and provides access to the engineering area. It can be displayed on a stand or hung from the ceiling.

Playmobil goes back in time to 1966 to celebrate the original Star Trek team with a new USS Enterprise set, 55 years after the TV show began.

The highly detailed set includes a deck with a removable roof and a Klingon starship watching the Enterprise crew on screen. The seven minifigures included in the set represent the original characters of Captain Kirk, Uhura, Sulu, Chekov, Dr. McCoy, Mr. Spock and Scotty.

This is the Enterprise’s first Playmobil model, and it measures an impressive 3.25 feet (1 meter) in length. The Mr. Spock toy is of particular interest to Playmobil enthusiasts, as it will be the first Playmobil figure to feature pointy Vulcan ears.

The Playmobil USS Enterprise comes with seven crew members and what appear to be a pair of tribbles near the screen.

The Enterprise has working lights as well as sounds and dialogue from the show. The ship can simulate a breach in the warp core (minus catastrophic explosions). The set will work with an augmented reality application to bring the ship to life. Playmobil says more details will be available soon.

The Enterprise will be available from September 8 for $ 500 in the US and £ 450 in the UK.

The set includes 150 pieces, including accessories like communicators. Take a close look at the image of the bridge. Make it bigger. Look near the corner of the viewing screen. Is this a pair of Playmobil tribbles? I hope so.
