Motorola is working on a foldable phone that should look a lot like the old Razr flip phones, but with all the modern features that smartphones give you today. This would mean a collapsible phone that looks like a small shake or a double hull, but that is actually a big screen device when it is unfolded. This could be the dream setting for those of us who have no interest in a phone that deploys in a tablet.
Today, the new foldable Motorola Razr (2019) would have leaked, thanks to a message posted to Weibo of the user @JJUT_. The message has since been removed from what I can say, but the internet never forgets and the images spread quickly.
The images show an unfolded Moto Razr, packaging and accessories that could arrive with this so-called $ 1,500 phone. In the triangular box of the Razr, we have a USB-A to USB-C cable, a 3.5mm dongle, a charger, earbuds and some kind of docking station or phone support.
As for the phone (above), you can see its iconic Razr shape with the chin, a notch in the unfolded phone screen and a hinged mechanism. None of the images reveal that the phone is fully folded, but we will assume that there is a gap, similar to that observed on the Galaxy Fold. These screens just can not be completely down for now.
It's pretty cool, is not it? It looks like an old Razr phone, with that modern twist.
Are these images legitimate? We have no idea at this stage. Users to Weibo who share them seem to think that @JJUT_ is a legitimate source and seems to work within the Lenovo community. As I noted above, these images spread quickly, as if they really were the reality. But again, we have no way of confirming it.
What we do know is that Motorola is working on a foldable phone, probably as a hull. We know that a filing with the World Intellectual Property Organization reveals a foldable clamshell device that looks like this device. And we're pretty sure the Moto Razr will probably arrive at Verizon under the XT-2000 model number. Motorola also said they did not plan to be late for the party foldable parties.
Thoughts?
