Streaming streaming exclusively to US users, Plex will broadcast content later this year. There is no programming in progress yet, so we do not know if users will be treated with current movies and TV, Warner's classic collection, or a combination of both. One detail that Plex has specified is that the content will be free; you will not need to be a premium member of the service.
Warner Bros's films and TV shows are likely to be just the beginning of Plex's advertising-funded content, as the company plans to work with other media partners to expand its catalog. Thus, although the main attraction of the application remains the ability to broadcast a personal media library, it is possible that it eventually becomes a centralized application for content on demand on networks.
