PM Update: Flash flood monitoring is in place as heavy rain arrives tonight

*Instant flood watch for the whole region from 8 pm Saturday to 10 am on Sunday *

If you have outdoor projects tonight, bring an umbrella and maybe even a raincoat. A blocked frontal limit and an energy approaching at altitude will create an ideal environment for heavy rain this evening and Sunday morning. It could rain one or more than three inches of rain on Sunday morning, which would result in a lightning watch.

Through this evening: The rain will move after 8 pm, with isolated storms and some showers. Between 8:00 pm and 2:00 am, precipitation expected to exceed 2 inches will cause some streams and streams to rise above flood level. Minor urban floods and water accumulation will also occur. The lowest temperatures will be 60 with a light wind from northeast to 5 mph.
