A 20-year-old Pokémon card could become the most expensive Pokémon card ever sold, grossing $ 500,000, reports the British news agency SWNS.

Auctions on the 1st Edition Pokémon Card, described by the auction house as “extremely desirable” and “in one-of-a-kind immaculate condition,” began on November 23 with a minimum bid of $ 50,000. It’s currently $ 170,000 and could easily double the record for a Pokémon card, previously set at $ 250,000.
“We believe this card has the capacity to hit a sale of $ 500,000,” auction manager Dave Amerman told the outlet.
“Having received the highest possible marks from two highly respected third-party authenticators SGC and MBA, we believe this will be the most valuable Pokémon card ever sold,” added Goldin Founder and CEO Ken Goldin.
Pokémon, which is partly owned by Nintendo, has seen a resurgence in recent years, thanks in part to the popular augmented reality game Pokémon GO.
YouTube personality Logan Paul also recently purchased another Charizard card for $ 150,000, helping the brand.
