Pokemon Go Oshawot Community Day: Event Time & Rewards

It’s that time of the month again – when we take all of our phones and participate in a new Pokemon Go Community Day Event. The community day of September 2021 is dedicated Oshawot – a cheeky choice suitable for the first community event of the season of silliness.

To be clear on the event schedule, September 2021 community day takes place on Sunday September 19, 2021, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. local time. This event focuses on the water-type Unova region starting Pokémon Oshawot – and you’ll be able to catch plenty of them, including brilliants, and evolve some of the captured Oshawots into Dewott and his final form, Samurott.

In addition to an increased spawn rate for Oshawott, players who participate in the Community Day will be able to enjoy other typical bonus rewards, including improved incense and decoys, extra XP, photobombs when taking photos, a unique research story and an exclusive move for the Oshawott family of Pokémon.

As always, the Community Event is a limited-time event – it will run for a locked six-hour period on the chosen day. The September 2021 Community Day hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time, whatever it is in your region and time zone. During these hours, the community day will be active, in turn allowing certain bonus rewards that make participating in the day interesting. You will notice right away that you are playing during Community Day, most likely, as Oshawott Spawns will be everywhere.

The September 2021 community focuses on one species of Pokémon, namely Water-type Oshawott and his evolutions, Dewott, and Samurott. Oshawott will appear in the wild more frequently during the event, and you can also get shiny forms of these Pokémon and exclusive powerful movement.

As we said before, the main reason to get involved in the Community Day event is to catch a group of Oshawott, find one with half decent stats, and then turn it into Samurott in the event schedule in order to get the exclusive Moves, Hydro Cannon. It can give you a mighty Pokemon, maybe even a shiny variant if you’re lucky!

Because you have a chance of catching that many and because the shiny rates are raised, you also have a decent chance of catching one. Shiny oshawott or two in the six hour period of the event, and an even better chance of catching one with good stats. There are, however, other rewards:

• Shiny Pokémon: Respawn rates will be increased for Oshawott, including in his shiny form. Catch a lot of them and you’ll be sure to meet a shiny Oshawott – maybe a few. You can then evolve to the Brilliant Dewott and then the Brilliant Samurott.
• 3x Capture XP: During the hours of the Community Event, players will earn triple XP for each Pokémon they catch. Pair it with other boosters and you will be able to generate a lot of XP very quickly.
• Exclusive travel – Hydro Cannon: there will be an exclusive movement for this evolution series – and this time around, it’s Blast Burn. You acquire the movement by evolving into a Samurott either during the event or within two hours of the time of the event (so until 7:00 p.m. local time) – any Samurott evolved at that time, regular or shiny, will get Hydro Cannon as charge movement. It’s a powerful water-like movement, and can’t even be taught by MT Elite.
• New move – Razor Shell: During the duration of the Oshawott Community Day event, the Oshawott Scalable Line will have the opportunity to learn a new movement – Razor Shell. It’s brand new for Community Day, but it’s a permanent addition – it will still be available after the event ends.
• 3 hour lures / Incense: if you drop a lure on a pokestop or an incense on yourself, it will last 3 hours instead of the normal time. This means that any decoy dropped during the event will last for the duration of the event. In addition, Oshawott will be drawn to Rainy Lure modules.
• Photobomb: During the hours of the Community Day event, if you take AR photo snapshots of your Pokémon, you have a chance to be photobombed by an excited Oshawott.
• Community Day Box in store: If you don’t mind parting with the money, there is a special Community Day box that will be added to the store for the duration of the event. 1280 Pokecoins will give you 50 Ultra Balls, 5 Lucky Eggs, 5 Rainy Lure Modules and an Elite ChargedTM.
• Premium research story: if you pay $ 1 for a ticket, you can also access special searches during the event. The optional special research story “From Shallots to Sailors” will be based on Oshawott’s capture and will be easy to beat during Community Day. This will earn you a variety of rewards.
• Stickers: Exclusive Oshawott themed stickers will drop from Pokestops, gifts from friends, and be available in the store.
