Pokemon Go: Shiny Meltan coming back next week for a limited time

If you missed the chance of catching a Shiny Meltan in Pokemon Go Back in February, you're in luck. Niantic is postponing the Meltan event for a limited time from Wednesday, April 24, offering players around the world another opportunity to capture the brilliant form of the mythical Pokemon of Hex Nut.

Unlike other Pokémon, Meltan will only appear in Pokemon Go if you have opened the Mystery Box, an item you get in the mobile game after you have transferred a Pokémon Gen 1 to Let's Go Pikachu or Eevee on Nintendo Switch. As a general rule, the mystery box will close after 30 minutes. You will have to wait seven days before reopening it. However, during the Meltan event, you will be able to reopen it after three days, which will allow you to find Meltan much faster than usual.

You will also have a chance to meet a Meltan Shelt every time you open the Mystery Box. You can distinguish the Shiny variant by its darker head and blue tail. If you manage to catch a shiny Meltan and turn it into Melmetal, it will retain its brilliant color. However, you will not be able to find Shiny Meltan until May 5th. You will have to act quickly if you hope to get one. You can read more about capturing the mythical Pokémon in our guide Meltan and Melmetal.

Meltan is not the only Shiny Pokémon that appeared in Pokemon Go soon. To celebrate the first Safari Zone event in Singapore, the rare Generation 2 Pokemon Shuckle will be appearing around the world from April 20th to 21st. Meanwhile, players will also have their first chance to find Shiny Shuckle. Shiny Latios is also available as part of a special Raid event, which should end on April 22nd.

Shortly after the end of the event in Meltan, Niantic will host the next Pokemon Go Community Day. This event is scheduled for Sunday, May 19th. This time, the featured Pokémon will be Torchic, one of three starters of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. You can also earn triple the usual amount of Stardust for every Pokemon you catch on the May Community Day.
