Torterra, the advanced form of Turtwig, is not the best DPS of the turf type, falling behind Roserade or another turf-like starter with community day movements. However, capturing many Torterras will be an easy feat this weekend and they are still pretty strong. If you miss grass type attackers, enjoy this community day.

The brilliant Turtwigs will appear randomly among the masses of other Turtwig at a rate of about one in 24. After the community day, the bright Turtwig will be able to spawn in the wild or get out of the eggs, but at a much lower rate.

What movement did Torterra learn?

Unsurprisingly, Torterra learns the Frenzy Plant as it evolves during the period of the event and up to two hours after. Make sure to turn your Turtwig and Grotle into Torterra before 4pm. in your local time in order to get the special shot.

How can I make the most of this community day?

Community Day presents a triplet Stardust capture, so be sure to catch as much Pokémon as possible and plan to blow up a star piece if you have one.

The best moveet to give to your Torterra is Razor leaf and Frenetic plant if you need a grass type DPS. If you already have a team of Roserade or Sceptile, you'd better use them.

If you decide which Shtwig Turtwig to evolve at the end of the day, try using one of the new search strings. Sort your 'mons' by 'recent' using the lower right icon, then type '4 *' in the search box at the top. This will allow you to know if you have 100% Turtwig IV. Most people will not be so lucky. You will then have to type "3 *" in the search field, which will show you recent currencies of 80% or more. Evaluate them to see which one is the best, then upgrade your new buddy!
