Pokemon Go hosts an Incense Day to celebrate the arrival of Mega Ampharos in the game. From 11:00 am to 5:00 pm local time today, Dragon-type or Electric-type Pokémon will spawn when incense is active . Electric-type Pokémon will spawn via Incense spawns from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., while Dragon-type Pokémon will appear via Incense spawns from 1:00 p.m. to 2 p.m. 00:00 and 16:00 to 17:00. Additionally, Mareep will appear from Incense more often throughout the event. To help players participate in the Incense Day event, Pokemon Go sells 3 Incense for 1 Poke Coin.

In addition to Mareep spawning more often during the event, any Ampharos evolved during the event will experience the Dragon Pulse move, a move he could previously only learn during a 2018 Community Day. Dragon Pulse is especially handy when Ampharos Mega Evolve, because Mega Ampharos is an Electric / Dragon type Pokémon and would gain an attack bonus of the same type when using the attack.

Pokémon confirmed to appear during the Incense event includes: Pikachu, Magnemite, Voltorb, Chinchou, Mareep, Plusle, Minun, Stunfisk, Horsea, Dratini, Trapinch, Vibrava, Swablu, and Bagon. Note that Plusle, Minun, and Bagon are all required to complete the Hoenn Celebration Event Collection Challenge.

In addition to today’s incense day, Pokemon Go Also hosts the aforementioned Hoenn celebration event, which features an increase in spawns of various Pokémon from the Hoenn region. This includes the addition of Groudon and Kyogre in 5-Star Raids until tomorrow, Monday, January 25. The game will then move on to a Johto Celebration event that will give players the ability to evolve certain Pokémon to learn moves that were previously exclusive to old Community Days. All of these celebratory events lead to the Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto event, which gives players a chance to capture shiny versions of every Pokemon in the Kanto region.
