Pokemon GO’s tricky event set to return on April Fool’s Day

News

Earlier today, Niantic announced the return of the Tricky Pokemon event to Pokemon GO. This is yet another event in an already busy April. This means that creatures like Aipom, Croagunk, and Purrlion will appear in the wild more often among other exciting bonuses and ‘mons’.

From April 1 at 12:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time, the Tricky Pokemon Event will bring a bunch of mischievous mons into the wild, including the elusive Ditto. The post hinted that Ditto would transform into a certain species more than others during this event, but it was not specified which one.

On top of that, Team GO Rocket Grunts will only have Shadow Aipom teams during the event. This will likely make it easier to get Rocket Radars for the GO Rocket Timed Research team which runs from April 1 at 12 p.m. to April 8 at 11:59 p.m. local time.

You will also be able to find Grunts in more Pokestops than usual, and GO Rocket Balloons will appear in the sky more often.

During this timed search, you will be able to obtain a Super Rocket Radar and have the chance to fight Giovanni for his Shadow Zapdos.

The most intriguing change to PvP for this event is the decrease in the switch timer. During the Tricky Pokemon event, the GO Battle League Switch Timer will be halved.

And just like with many other events, a special Pokémon will photograph any photos you take of your own mons. There’s no indication of who it will be, so give it a try on April Fool’s Day.
