Pokemon Masters has just been officially released, giving you a whole new Pokemon experience to play on the go. Although Masters shares many similarities with previous Pokemon games, so does the game. One of these differences is how Pokemon can evolve. If you have problems, we have described the process below.
First of all: every pair of synchronization you recruit does not have a Pokémon that can evolve. The Pikachu with which you start can not become a Raichu, for example. As far as we know, there are no definitive rules to determine which Pokemon partners can evolve into Masters, although we have found that the only Pokémon that can evolve are those in their original form. If you recruit a pair of sync with a Pokémon that is already in its second phase of evolution, it does not seem able to reach its third (provided it has one).
Android Authority has compiled all sync pairs with Pokemon which, we know, can evolve into the Masters listed below. It's possible that more sync pairs have Pokémon that can evolve, but we'll need more time with the game to be sure. The evolution of Pokemon can be a long process.
Pairs of synchronization with Pokemon who can evolve in Pokemon Masters
- Barry and Piplup (evolves to Prinplup then Empoleon)
- Kris and Totodile (evolves towards Croconaw then Feraligatr)
- Lyra and Chikorita (evolves towards Bayleef and Meganium)
- Pryce and Seel (evolves towards Dewgong)
- Rosa and Snivy (evolve towards Servine then Serperior)
- Alto and Surskit (evolves to Masquerain)
Now, how do you evolve these Pokémon is very different from previous games. You do not have to worry about environmental factors, time of day or scalable stones, although the traditional upgrade system is part of the process.
First, you need to prioritize the Pokémon's sync pair that you want to scale to at least level 30. Once you reach level 30, you'll unlock a special battle that you'll need to complete for the Pokémon to evolve. . You can not, however, attempt this battle until you fulfill an additional condition: acquire five Evolution fragments, which can currently only be purchased in Tricia's store. The first time you buy five Shards, they will cost you 1,000 coins – the in-game currency that you can win or buy with microtransactions – but that number exponentially increases more, so be sure to focus on the # 39, evolution of the Pokémon want. With the Shards and your pair of trailer synchronization, you can try the battle. Each of these special fights is unique for each pair of synchronization. The only common point between all of them is that they are extremely difficult. It may be wise to exceed the minimum required level of 30.
Once you have won, the Pokémon of the synchronization pair will evolve, maintaining its previous level but acquiring more powerful statistics. Do not worry too much about losing, you can restart the battle as many times as you want. For Pokémon with a third stage of evolution, you will have to repeat the process – although it reaches level 45 this time. The Evolution stones to reach the third stage are much more expensive than the Shards. They start at 5,000 coins and eventually climb to 300,000. The unique battle you have to fight is much more difficult. Attacking at level 45 minimum is not advisable.
Despite this test to evolve a Pokémon in Masters, the reward is worth it. The evolutions allow Pokemon to learn new, more powerful synchronization moves, which can make the hardest battles in the game a lot easier. In some cases, these synchronization movements lead to a mega-evolution of the Pokémon. Android Authority has a list of Pokémon that we know Mega Evolve can.
