Pokémon United, the new MOBA-style adaptation of the hugely popular Pokémon franchise, released Wednesday for Nintendo Switch. From now on, you can download the game for free from Nintendo eShop and claim Zeraora, the Thunderclap Pokémon, for free for a limited time.
Pokemon unite is a new free-to-play game from The Pokémon Company and TiMi Studio Group. In it, two groups compete in teams of five to try and score as many points as possible against the opposing team. Much of the game will unlock new Pokémon for use in battle, including Zeraora.
How to buy back Zeraora
First of all, to get Zeraora, you will need to log in and download Pokémon United before August 31. If you are planning to play on the mobile version which is coming out this fall, don’t worry. A tweet from the game’s official page indicated that players planning to play on mobile still be able to get the Pokémon at a later date.
Once you’ve downloaded the game, launch it and navigate to the main menu with your trainer and Pokémon on it. Press “X” on your Switch controller and it will open a submenu. From there, scroll down to “Mail” and click “System Messages”. There is a message titled “Launch Bonus”. Press “A” to use and unlock Zeraora’s Unite license. Once done, Zeraora will appear as an optional fighter.
It’s only day one, so players are still figuring out each character’s strengths and weaknesses, but it won’t hurt to pick another fighter. Here is a video showing the movement of the Pokémon defined in the game.

Pokemon unite is live on Nintendo Switch now and is expected to hit mobile platforms in September.
