Polish volleyball players of the defeat with the Russians 1: 3 began to participate in the final tournament of the first edition of the League of Nations Nations. The Reds, to keep the chance to qualify for the semifinal, must defeat the Americans Thursday in a duel of Group B in Lille.

These teams clashed at the end of May in the second queue of intercontinental matches. Biało-Czerwoni won in Krakow 3: 0. The Russians then had many young players backed by the experienced Dmitry Muserski and played in a very chaotic manner at the time

From week to week, however, they improved day by day. In the intercontinental phase, coach Sergiej Szlapnikow has saved several of his stars – striker Maxim Mikhailov and central Artem Wołwicz. According to the predictions of the Poles, he will take them to Lille and will prove to be the key figures of the meeting of the European champions and the gold medalists of the London Olympics in 1969.

The Reds helped their enemies by breaking three services in a row. The end of the meeting was a duel to attack both teams. The last point, however, went to Muserski who had less success before.

They want to fight to extend their chances, the Poles did not give up this meeting. With a good match of Artur Szalpuk, they led by 7: 4. The advantage decreased to a point after the ace of Muserski (9: 8). The Red-Whites did not give up, and among them still the Rooster. The pride of this part of the meeting was the action in which in the skyscraper duel in the middle, measuring 2.17 m, Lemański stopped Muserski by one centimeter (16:12). It is only in this installment that Szlapnikov made the first change in the line-up. The Russians had a much weaker time – they often beat their licks. Sborna has returned to a good command since the beginning of the next feast. Muserski in the condition 2: 3 felt Lemański for the block in the previous installment. The leader of Biało-Czerwonych was Kurek, who scored 23 points. In the Russian team 17 points Wołkow noted, and one less Michajłow. The Poles scored five effective blocks and three aces. Sborna had them – respectively 12 and 9.
