According to "Puls Biznesu", Synektik, distributor of medical equipment and radiopharmaceutical products, has signed a framework agreement with the American company Intuitive Surgical, a world leader in the production of robots used to perform surgical procedures complicated. At least until 2021, he will be the only distributor and servant of da Vinci robots, who have virtually replaced surgeons with scalpels with many medical procedures.
– We will deal with the distribution and maintenance of robots, the training of doctors. The contract will have a significant impact on the company's revenue: the cost of purchasing a single system is several million zlotys, which are then paid regularly for the service. Until the end of the year, we would like to sell some robots in Poland – says Cezary Kozanecki, chairman and major shareholder of Synektiku (25% of the shares).
The newspaper adds that in Poland only two robots operate on a limited scale Vinci: in Wroclaw and Toruń. In comparison, there are more than a dozen in the Czech Republic and more than 4,500 in the world, most in the United States, where the first devices appeared at the beginning of the century
– We estimate the Polish market for about 20 robots in a few years. . At this point, however, our priority is not to sell equipment quickly.
