An international team of scientists recovered in Botswana an asteroid fragment detected in space eight hours before touching the Earth on June 2.
Asteroid 2018 LA was detected in the space by the Catalina Sky Survey, operated by the University of Arizona in the United States and sponsored by NASA as part of its mission to planetary defense.
