Judge Henryk Cioch died on December 20th. The information had previously appeared before that he was suffering from health problems – he suffered a stroke last year. The autopsy practiced resulted in the fact that third parties did not contribute to the judge's death. Experts said it was caused by respiratory circulatory insufficiency.
According to FMR FM, the investigators analyzed, among other things, medical records, interviewed witnesses and obtained expert opinions in the field of forensic medicine. These actions excluded that the third party contributed to the death of the professor.

Henryk Cioch was a well-known lawyer, university professor, lawyer, 8th-century senator and professor of legal science. He was a member of the Polish Unified Workers Party. In 1984-1985, thanks to the H. Herzt Stiftung Foundation, he was a one-year fellow at the University of Bonn. In 1996, at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk, he obtained a postdoctoral degree. He was deputy dean of the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration of the Catholic University of Lublin John Paul II and director of the first department of civil law of this faculty, then president of the scientific council of the Stefczyka Institute of Sopot in December 2008. In 2010, the President of the Republic of Poland, Lech Kaczyński, appointed him a member of the National Development Council.
In the 2011 election, he was a non-partisan candidate for law and justice in the Senate. He obtained a seat in the upper chamber of Parliament, receiving 52,961 votes in the single-member constituency. On 1 December 2015, the Sejm Committee on Justice and Human Rights issued a positive opinion on his candidacy to the Judge of the Constitutional Court. The next day, the Sejm, mainly with the votes of PiS deputies, chose him as judge of the Constitutional Court, without specifying in the resolution the beginning of his term. On December 3, 2015, President Andrzej Duda took his promise. Henryk Cioch was admitted to rule on 20 December 2016 by p.o. the President of the Constitutional Court Julia Przyłębska.
