Intact burial levels were found in the park. "The dead are in layers," says archaeologist Robert Grochowski in an interview with TVN24.
"I can safely assume that there are about 80,000 skeletons throughout the cemetery, a huge number, I know, but that's what the research says," says archaeologist .
According to TVN24, before the Second World War, there was an evangelical graveyard there. It probably operated as early as the 17th century
. The necropolis was liquidated in the 1950s. Documents from this period show that the bodies were to be exhumed. Now, it turns out that only the gravestones and the wall surrounding the area have been liquidated.
The authorities of Bydgoszcz have stopped an investment of several million. The city president has appointed a special team of experts to find a solution to the problem.
