PARIS (Reuters) – French President Emmanuel Macron has decided to fire the bodyguard who was caught on camera on May Day protest after "new facts" emerged from the alleged misdemeanor, the president's office said on Friday.
Man was also being questioned by the police on the incident, the prosecutor's office said separately.
Macron had come under fire after The world newspaper revealed his office had the bodyguard protested and posing as a police officer Three months ago, but did not inform law enforcement authorities.
