Anna Chodakowska in 1973 graduated from the Acting Department of Theater Academy. Aleksandra Zelwerowicz in Warsaw. She began her career by appearing at the National Theater. She has received numerous awards including winning the 13th Kaliski Theater Encounters for the title role in Sophocles' Antigone, directed by Adam Hanuszkiewicz at the National Theater (1973). She also received the Interpretation Award and the Rector's Award PWST (1975). She has received the Golden Screen for her roles in Gerard Zalewski's Justyna and Dorota, and in Różewicz's Kartoteka, directed by Krzysztof Kieślowski (1980).
