Crowds at the opening of the Primark store in Madrid
A strange euphoria erupted in Poland. On the news that the Primark network will enter our country, online shopping forums have turned upside down. Only a few of the compatriots do not know what's going on. I think everyone needs a few words to explain.
Primark is an Irish chain with clothes for the whole family. Puls Biznesu has reported his entry into Poland. Primark negotiates the price of space renting in several shopping centers. One of them must be Galeria Młociny, which is under construction in Warsaw, and three other locations are also underway.
The reactions of both sexes are enthusiastic. "Finally, finally, let's be as fast as possible" – these words parade in the comments. Few voices saying that there is not enough to be happy, and that Primark is bad, are lost.

– Remember that we are still talking about the potential entry into the Polish market, because we have not yet official confirmation, these are just news stories in the media. But Primark is certainly interested in the Polish market. Two years ago already, I spoke with representatives of this company when they "looked at Poland". For Primark, it would be better to enter our market as soon as possible, because we know a lot of foreign brands that have delayed it for too long, and that's one of the reasons for their failure – says Radosław Knap, Director General of the Polish Council of Shopping Centers. 19659009] Why were the Poles so happy?
Because Primark is known for good quality clothes, a large selection and low prices
– Extremely low. Shirts or shorts are sold for the equivalent of two pounds, or 10 to 15 zlotys. These are prices like in the clothing store. Meanwhile, Poles have a habit of paying very large sums for clothes. They are at comparable prices in Western Europe, furthermore we have no real sales, where the whole range can be bought for very little money – says Bartosz Słupski, an expert of the e-commerce industry.
The second is that Poles are like Primark. And this despite the fact that the brand in Poland is not available.
– I remember that in 2014 we did a national survey at one of our reports. We asked about brands that Poles would like to see in our country. And among those traded spontaneously – it was not supported in any way – Primark was in the first place. This is an extremely interesting question – reminds Radosław Knap.
Where does this popularity come from? It turns out that many compatriots know Primark from autopsy
– The Poles know Primark not only from the British Isles, but the stores in this network are, after all, almost everywhere in Europe. But the fact is that they loved them very much. It is hard to say who he left: we have a large group of emigrants, including people who visit them abroad. Both bring different goods in Poland, there are also tourists – a group of Poles who knows and appreciates this brand is really big – he says.
And this is mainly due to low prices.
– You must remember that Primark is hard to overlook in many cities. Explains Radoslaw Knap.
On the market
Many people wonder if (unless of course Primark in Poland really does). will come) will keep the price level known from European stores. After all, he could sell T-shirts not for (for example) 10, but for 20 PLN, and he would be besieged anyway. Experts have no doubt that such a strong and strong brand would not allow such cheap tricks. We can therefore expect price tags that we have never seen before.
– The direct competition for Primark will be in Poland economic fashion brands, for both women and men and children. But I would not consider it in the category of "harming" anyone. According to Radosław Knap, entering the market of a new brand so well recognized by the Poles means benefits for all – attracts customers and creates healthy competition – many people think that Primark could be a competitor of our house. for incomparably smaller money. The PRCH director does not agree with this opinion
– This is not yet the quality Reserved, this brand has taken a step forward some time ago with regard to this criterion. If I had to compare Primark to a LPP brand, the Sinsay brand would be the closest. She could quite compete directly with Primark – he says
A bit of internet trading will also change. Primark says nothing about the e-store, but in Poland the trade of this brand's products thrives. It's hard to believe, but on Allegro, there are up to 16,000 products described as coming from Primark. And it's probably the only industry that can complain about a possible entry into Poland
– It's also a plus for galleries and shopping streets, especially ones that have vacant space or who want to offer a greater variety to their customers. It is worth trying and getting Primark. This will increase the traffic and the interest of the customers. It is also an argument for other brands that it is worth developing in Poland. From a trade point of view, every new brand on the market is great news – says Radosław Knap.
The first Primark was opened in Dublin in 1969. Since then, has appeared in Europe, including England, Belgium, France, Germany, Portugal and Italy. Finally, it's time for Poland – if the rumors are confirmed.
