The Senate Committee on Human Rights, the Rule of Law and Petitions recommended Monday the adoption of the entire House without amendments to the amendments to the Acts, including the Supreme Court , the judicial system, the National Council of Magistracy and the Public Prosecutor's Office. The motion to recommend to the Senate to accept the amendment without amendments – after more than an hour of discussions on human rights, the rule of law and the commissions of the petitions – was reported by the chairman of this committee, Robert Mamatow (Law and Justice). Five senators argued, three were against him.
Previously, most committees did not receive the request of OP senators to recommend the rejection of the Act. Nor did the Commission accept the request to interrupt the Committee's deliberations.
The amendment was criticized by the senators PO. – If this law passes through the Senate and God forbid that it be signed by the President, it would mean that in Poland the process of subordination of political power of the judicial authorities was closed "- said the President of the Senate Club Bogdan Klich.
As he announced, the Senate opposition is to table a draft Senate resolution on Tuesday, which "would protect the citizens of the Republic of Poland against the consequences that will result from the adoption of this law".
Deputy Minister of Justice Łukasz Piebiak replied to opposition senators that the number of SN judges was decreasing, the tasks of the SNs were increasing and that some associations of judges and social organizations " declared that the process of recruiting NS was paralyzed.
– At this point, the decision maker, who was currently a member of Parliament, could look at this situation and say that we would fall SN (…), and could also propose solutions that will not paralyze the process of recruitment to the Supreme Court . Members have found such a solution, and the Seym has adopted it, "Piebiak said.
The Senate began working on a set of judicial acts
