Due to cyanobacteria, all the bathing beaches of the Tri-City were closed Monday It was only when the current changed that it was possible to dive again in the sea in Sopot and Sobieszewo. Visitors to one of the largest beaches of Gdansk – Stogi – can enjoy the charm of the waves of the sea. It is not said, however, that cyanobacteria will not return to these places. What is a blue-green algae? Cyanobacteria are also self-sustaining organisms capable of surviving in almost all conditions, from rocks to hot springs. Most often, however, they occur in salt-rich seawater and full of impurities deposited by the river flowing into the seas. Although many call cyanobacterial algae, the term is incorrect. These organisms belong to the group of bacteria, but when they are in bloom, they can look like algae (more on cyanobacteria)
