This year's edition of the Christmas Fair in Gdańsk will begin on 1 December and will also cover the space in front of the Gdańsk forum, where stands and icebergs will also be present. In Węglowy Targ, a rich gastronomic area will be open until 13 January. In Gdynia, a Christmas tree began to work on weekends.

At Targ Węglowy see the map of Gdańsk, which is usually the heart of the Christmas market, work on staging and scenography is underway. The organizers of the Gdańsk International Fair have prepared several new products for the upcoming fair, whose stands will be open from 11 on Saturday.

A huge gastronomic area and a carousel

The implementation of the two-level carousel of Gdańsk is already underway, and we met this year at St. Dominika (she was at the fish market). The residents of Gdańsk – holders of the Dweller card – will be able to use the carousel for a symbolic zloty once. The fees will be transferred to the Hospice Foundation for the leisure activities of orphaned children.

Another novelty is the restoration zone, which will dominate the central part of the coal market.

– It will be a large consumption area, where you can also warm up. There will also be new places to eat – spacious and covered kiosks, equipped with furniture and radiators. It will last until January 13th. It will be delicious here – announcement Joanna Czauderna-Szreter of MTG.

Also in Gdynia, a Christmas tree is being prepared and the Christmas illumination will be suspended.

We will be able to taste some Spanish dishes there (churrosy), Hungarian (kurtosze and langos), Alsatian (flatbreads), Chinese (meatballs and poultry), German (Wurst and gluhweiny in different flavors), Greek (bugatsa of Filo cakes), Belgian (wafers and fries), Kashub and Polish. As in previous years, you can buy ceramic collector cups.

Craft and help for the Basilica Saint. Nicholas

After the Christmas gifts, you will be able to go to the Armory, where will be held the craft fair. There will be attractions for lovers of modern design, crafts, art ceramics, silver jewelry, titanium, amber and unconventional materials.

There will also be gift ideas for kids: educational puzzles, wooden toys, cotton swabs and stuffed toys. At the Armory on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 artistic workshops for the youngest will also take place.

There will also be a huge chest, on which an even larger image of St. Nicholas. These two elements will not be accidental. They come from Saint Basilica. Nicholas, which has been closed for several weeks, as it was a disaster in construction.

Residents and tourists will be able to donate to the temple rescue in the box installed in the armory on the side of the coal market.

New scenography and fair at the Gdańsk Forum

– This year, for the first time, we will have what is called mapping, or bright displays displayed at the Katownia Tower. They will not be long, but very effective and, importantly, they will not take place every day, but only on Saturdays and Sundays at 18 and 20 – announces Czuderna-Szreter.
The Angels Mill will be at the fair, an enchanted car and – making a splash last year – Lucek's moose, speaking in human voices (and in multiple languages).

Feta theater actors will play fairytale characters. Nicolas will also be available from 6 to 8 December (12 to 18 years old) on the historical bridge of the Gdańsk forum.

– Shopping is no longer the main attraction of the fair, the idea is to meet or sing Christmas carols – he says Elwira Twardowska, responsible for the artistic part of the fair. – We are, with the exception of the Netherlands, the only city in Europe where Santa Claus comes to us.
