Spanish media: Modrić before Ronaldo. Ball of Gold for Croatians

Spanish radio Onda Cero says the winner of this year's Golden Ball will be Luka Modrić.

The Gold Ball award will be officially presented next Monday. Onda Cero station has already handed out who will reach for this statuette.

According to the Spaniards, the dominance of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, winners of the Golden Ball for a decade (they both have five statuettes), will be broken. This year, the winner of the plebiscite will be Luka Modrić. The Croatian player has already received the award for best FIFA footballer.

Second place will be Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese have won the gold ball in the previous two years. Antoine Griezmann, who won this year's Europa League against Atletico Madrid and the title of world champion in Russia, will be in third place.
