An automatic border control system will be set up at Warsaw Chopin Airport and at the Warsaw-Modlin Airport. Under the signed contract, a total of 25 biometric gates will be installed: 20 at the Warsaw Chopin Airport and 5 at the Warsaw-Modlin Airport. The contractor is Enigma Information Protection System.
The investment is 6.7 million zlotys. Mazovia airports will be the first in Poland to use automatic check-in facilities. The Ministry of the Interior and Administration points out that this will greatly affect the safety and comfort of travelers. The signing of the contract was attended by Krzysztof Kozłowski (Deputy Minister of the Interior and Administration) and Zbigniew Sipiera (Voivode of Mazovia).

– Objectives ABC (ang. automatic Border control) will be used for border checks mainly by citizens of the European Union and the European Economic Community with a biometric passport. They will allow travelers to register themselves – informs the Ministry of the Interior and Administration in a communication. ABC Gateways automatically check data stored in Biometric passport chip with the image of the traveler's face. Confirm if the person presenting the document at registration is the owner.
– The automatic connection of the devices to the Schengen II information system databases, managed by the Border Guard, will among other things: determine if the traveler is not a threat to homeland security and public order – we read in the message. The introduction of biometric barriers will increase the border control bandwidth and reduce the waiting time of travelers from a few minutes to a dozen seconds.
The first ABC door will appear at the airport in 2018another in 2019. Automated border checks are already being carried out at other European airports, including Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Spain and France. Poland will be the 18th country to have an electronic model for passenger screening.
