Firefighters located the wreckage of an aircraft victim of an accident during the air picnic in Płock.

An airplane in a mule wheels

– The machine is located 7-8 meters below the surface of the water, the plane is reversed by wheels and immersed deep in the mullet. At the moment, there is no way to contact the pilot and determine what happened to him – said Maciej Stroiński, Polsat News air expert.

According to Stroiński, the pilot could lose control of the machine.

A quick response from the emergency services

Two firefighters and two ambulances immediately appeared on the shore. There are attempts to extract the aircraft. According to unofficial information, this is a German Jak-52 training-training aircraft. The machine touched the water near the shore, near the historic grain elevator.

The rescue operation is carried out from six boats, including fire and police. To find the machine are used, among other sonars.

An experienced pilot from Germany performed the so-called acrobatic group. During the corkscrew and a sharp decline over the Vistula's surface, he failed to move the machine from the figure. The machine, after making several revolutions around its own axis instead of flying horizontally, fell further and hit the water with great force.

Divers who descended into the water initially found only fragments of the machine under the surface. Most likely, after hitting the water, the plane crashed.

An experienced driver from Germany

The pilot of the aircraft was experienced and repeatedly performed similar maneuvers. Most likely, he lost control of the machine.

Unofficially, it is unlikely that the organizers will resume their flights as part of the air picnic. There is no decision to stop the event, a crisis team meets, President Płock will participate.

The event began Saturday at 10:00. It is organized for the first time after a few years by the Aero Club of the Mazovia region.

The main shows, including flights of historical and contemporary aircraft, were presented to the Vistula River.

Contemporary but also historic machines from the period of the Second World War were to appear at the show.

The future of the picnic is in question

The picnic in Płock was to take place after several years of break. The cause is the death of the pilot Marek Szufa who, during an acrobatic flight, occurred on the Vistula during a picnic in 2011, fell during the show in the Water and died. The report of the aviation accident investigation committee indicates that he misjudged the amount.
