– it was a family affair. Employees of the Social Insurance Institution were able to quickly deduct money from the Department and decided to use it, says our informant.
Parents drain the Social Insurance Institution
Husbands, wives, brothers, mothers-in-law and mothers of ZUS employees set up their own business. They decided to pay a voluntary sickness contribution – but not the minimum amount (PLN 65 per month), as most entrepreneurs do, but even several hundred zlotys. They quickly took sick leave and claimed sickness benefits, which is offered to entrepreneurs after only three months of timely payment of contributions.
