The Borussia Dortmund coach's attack took place on April 11, 2017. Sergei W., head of the crime, heard the sentence and would be sentenced to 14 years in prison.
The Russian was found guilty of attempting to murder 28 people. The vehicle was mainly made up of footballers and coaches from Borussia Dortmund, who were going to the hotel before the Champions League match with AS Monaco.
Marc Bartra, of Borussia, suffered a trauma as a result of an injury to the coup d'etat. The Spaniard did not play in the match against AS Monaco. Apart from him and a policeman escorting the team, no one was injured.
According to the German daily "Bild", the murderer pleaded guilty, but he explained that his goal was not a collective murder, but … a desire for profit. Sergei W. says that he wanted to bring down the German club's stock prices.
The prosecutor's office demanded life imprisonment for an assassin. However, the German court sentenced him to 14 years in prison.
