Adam Małysz: Predazzo is a magical place for us

Already this weekend (January 12-13), the World Cup ski jumping will take place at the Italian Predazzo. Adam Malysz told us about this extraordinary place for the Poles.

"There are good memories of Predazzo, not only my boys, but also the boys, Kamil won the World Championship individually and the team got the bronze.The ski jump has always been friendly to the Poles and that it remains so – reminds Adam Małysz.

– It's a magical place for us, because this object has something that always makes us jump here. This is not an easy hill and it would seem that it does not suit me because I've always loved objects with a steep descent, a short sill and a quick transition. Val di Fiemme is the opposite – it has a slight rise in power, a fairly long threshold (similar to Bischofshofen), and yet I liked it – adds the winner four times Crystal Ball.

– I remember very well my victory at the 2003 World Cup on the big hill. Then the time had come for a normal hill and for the first time, I was sure I could win. I knew very well that if I managed to win gold on a big hard object, then on a medium, which suited me the best, it should also be good – adds the sporting director of PZN.

– At the 2013 Football World Cup, when I arrived in Val di Fiemme to support the Polish team, I felt for the first time the nerves of a person standing slightly on the side. I've always felt this stress as a player and it's this time that I had to support the team and the perception was completely different. These nerves were huge and, after all, being a staff member, working for others, often more nervous than being a player – says Małysz.

– Maybe in Val di Fiemme, there are never too many Italian fans, but there are often Polish fans, especially skiers who go there for the holidays and who arrive at the hill . It is a good time because we are after the holidays, at the beginning of the year and I hope that the Poles will add and fill the tribune in Val di Fiemme to support our jumpers. .
