Another batch of cocaine hidden in cartons containing bananas was found by police officers from the province of Silesia in one of the warehouses. In a few days, 220 kilograms of drugs were "captured" throughout the country.
– Our activities are conducted in many ways. We know that cocaine arrived in Poland from Ecuador. Let's try to determine whether Poland was a target country or a transit country. This inquiry raises many questions – says Dawid Marciniak, of the police headquarters.
Police look at drugs
When asked if it was true that specialized officers were providing drugs, fearing their theft, Dawid Marciniak said the police were prepared for various scenarios.
– These are medicines worth tens of millions of zlotys. So we have to prepare ourselves for various scenarios and, therefore, make sure that someone wants them back. We have experienced officers and we conduct activities in a way that ensures the safety of police and aliens – adds Dawid Marciniak.
Drugs in boxes with bananas
A little earlier, at tvnwarszawa.pl, we reported that drugs worth tens of millions of zlotys had gone to the shops of the popular commercial network. The drug was packed in small packages hidden under the fruits. They were discovered by shop employees in several provinces – Mazowieckie, Lodzkie and Dolnośląskie – when unpacking the goods. The investigators initiated international cooperation, including to determine the sender and the recipient of the drug.
