Anti-terror police will sleep in tents

The anti-terror police delegated for more than two weeks to protect the climate summit organized by COP24 in Poland will sleep under tents – learned tvn24.pl. The main command confirms, but explains that it is the only possible option to put police officers in the same place as military "specialists".

The police interviewed by the journalist tvn24.pl say they are outraged.

– We know for months that the summit will take place in Poland and that the most important personalities of the world will have to be protected during two weeks. Despite this, we will land in tents, where we will sleep after service in the air – they say.

At the summit, to be held in Katowice and Krakow, from 30 to 30 December, 30,000 people will participate. On Monday, there is already "the first level of terrorist threat" announced by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, which means the mobilization of all services.

Tents with 30 levels of heat

The anti-terrorist police have been in place for a few days in Krakow. They were housed in tents installed in the Krakow Special Forces Unit.

We obtained photos showing the conditions of reception of anti-terrorists. These are the tents that firefighters have. This model allows you to heat the interior theoretically up to 30 degrees Celsius. The construction of tents also makes it possible to develop them for the needs of anti-terrorists.

Inspector Mariusz Ciarka, spokesperson for the press at the police headquarters, confirms that the decision to place anti-terrorists in tents has effectively ended. – We wanted them to be on the territory of a special forces unit with which the soldiers will cooperate closely – explains the spokesperson during an interview with tvn24.pl.

As he explains, the entire infrastructure of the barracks, including the canteen, the gym and even the sauna, will be available to police officers.

A spokesman for headquarters is convinced that the anti-terrorist police operating alongside soldiers has a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, specialized equipment as well as special vehicles, including pyrotechnic vehicles and help.

– These facilities are not kept in the hotel rooms, but in a car park located in front of the hotel. In the protected military unit, we guarantee all security procedures, but most importantly, the availability and speed of action count. In the event of a situation involving the rapid establishment of anti-terrorist procedures, soldiers and police officers are essentially ready to act immediately. After all, it's about the safety and the efficiency of the tasks performed – he explains.

The commandos of GROM also

Our interlocutors, however, do not hide their disappointment. – The logistics have again failed – they say, asking for anonymity. "We have three weeks of service in the cold and we return to the tent. After all, none of us wants nor requires the comfort of Hilton, just a standard dorm or police barracks – they explain. .

According to our information, the soldiers of GROM will be housed in conditions similar to those of the police. Their participation in the operation was made possible by the decision of President Andrzej Duda. The president must give his consent whenever the GROM unit is to be used in the country, in peacetime.

Canteen inspections

A dozen thousand police officers from other departments who came to support their colleagues from the garrisons of Silesia and Little Poland were accommodated in hotels and dormitories. The restaurants and canteens in which they will be fed have already been controlled by special committees.

– Each site has been controlled by representatives of the command, unions and appropriate inspections. We wanted to make sure they would meet the standards – explains Inspector Ciarka.
