Yesterday ended with San Diego Comin-Con 2018, according to many of the most important event of its kind in the world. As every year, the convention is an opportunity to present new materials and information on upcoming film and television productions. It was not different this time, because the producers provided really interesting things.
This year's San Diego Comic-Con did not disappoint in terms of trailers and interesting announcements on movies and series. Warner Bros. presented materials favoring the next two DC films. The CW station was also richly presented, and it boasted trailers of three series. We also received a new announcement from the Fantastic Animals Suite.
In San Diego, the first trailer for the upcoming DCEU movie was created. Known from previous productions of the universe Arthur Curry, the ruler of the underwater depths, he faces an extremely difficult task. Aquaman must maintain a balance between the world of people whose actions contribute to the destruction of the kingdoms of the sea and the people of the bottom of the oceans. The growing rebellion will put the position of the Lord of Atlantis on a serious test. The lead role will be played by Jason Momoa, and apart from him, we will also see Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe and Patrick Wilson on screen. The film will go to theaters on December 21st.
Shazam!
Warner Bros. He did not stop at Aquaman's trailer and also presented the trailer for his project next year. Shazam! promises to be the most humorous DC film. Teenager Billy Batson goes into a foster home. After some unpleasant situations involving schoolchildren, the boy looks for a way to deal with the hangmen. Once, he meets a mysterious wizard who promises him superpowers. Billy is in agreement, but with the acquisition of new abilities becomes an adult man. The title role will be played by Zachary Levi, accompanied by Asher Angel or Jack Dylan Grazer. The production will go to the cinemas on April 5, 2019.
Fantastic animals: the crimes of Grindelwald
Continuation of the adventures of Newt Scamander. Grindelwald gathers a crowd of wizards ready to impose Muggles on their power. Only Albus Dumbledore, the ancient friend of the wizard, can stop him. However, he needs the help of Newt, his ex-student. Scamander must once again face the dangers of Grindelwald. He will meet Queenie, Tina and Jacob again, but this time their knowledge will be put to the test of loyalty to the new orders. The film will go to theaters on November 16th.
The Vikings – the 5th season
In San Diego, the premiere of the second edition of the 5th season of the saga on the Lothbrok family was also created. Ivar without bone has a brutal domination over Kattegat, which no longer resembles a place known from previous episodes. Bjorn, Lagertha and Ubbe prepare for another fight with the tyrant. At the same time, Hvitserk plans to join the brothers and sisters and face Ivar. The family conflict will increase when Rollo comes home.
Riverdale – Season 3
Many do not like the adaptation of Archie Comics, but Riverdale has a large group of dedicated fans. And these must be responsible for the high viewing results, because the show will see the third season. The CW station has presented the preview of the next production release. In the new episodes, we will meet, among other sister and mother Jughead, whose relationship with Betty will improve. It will be worse in the case of Archie and Veronica. The new season will debut on October 10th.
Legacies
The Originals are heading towards the finale, but this is not the end of the universe. The CW already has a spin-off of the series – Legacies. This production will focus on the daughter of Klaus and Hayley-Hope, who goes to school for teens with supernormal abilities. There, she will have to face her powers, but also to experiment the first attempts of love. Students will also try to discover their heritage and understand their role in a world that will never fully accept them. The first of the first episode is scheduled for October 25.
Roswell, New Mexico
Production announced as the reboot of the cult series of the turn of the millennium. Biomedicyst Liz Ortecho returns to her hometown of Roswell, where she discovers the devastating truth about her boyfriend, Max, who turns out to be an extraterrestrial. The girl decides to help her discover her past. But Max is not the only alien in the city. The themes of immigration and the tense situation at the US-Mexico border will be added to the themes known to the original. The CW plans to begin broadcasting Roswell, New Mexico in early 2019.
Deadpool
Unfortunately, this is not a new film with Wadem Wilson. Deadpool 2 had its premiere on Blu-ray, and Ryan Reynolds revealed some details about the additions to this release. In other scenes we find, among other prolonged sequence of return to the past and encounter with Wolverin. Wilson will tell Logan that he will accept in the future a proposal for cooperation, which could announce the official meeting of these characters in future films. We will also discover what happened to Juggernaut and get to know Omega Red, the Soviet mutant killer.
Lobo
The cult anti-hero goes to the screens, but not as a main form of production. Lobo, a teenager, murdered the entire population of the home planet, becoming one of the most brutal mercenaries in the universe. Blood gushes wherever it appears, and it will not be otherwise in the Krypton series. Lobo will be the main antagonist of the second season of production. It is not yet known who will play the antihero, nor how far his character will be faithful to the extremely brutal comics.
