Audi e-tron GT. It has an interior of fishing nets after recycling!

Los Angeles producers could not miss the current showroom in Los Angeles. European premium brands such as Audi have particularly strong representations.

The most brilliant star of the German manufacturer's stand is the conceptual Audi e-tron GT. The four-door coupe, powered exclusively by electric, is expected to come into production in about two years.

The car fits in the proportions of the classic Gran Turismo. The concept of the Audi e-tron GT measures 4.96 m long, 1.96 m wide and 1.38 m high. The wheelbase is 2.9 m.

When building the body, the priority was to maintain a small mass. The entire part of the roof was made of carbon, many aluminum components and all the high-strength steel supports. The technical solutions of this vehicle were created in close collaboration with Porsche.

With the Gran Turismo design, the center console, the large touch screen on the top and the line starting from the door through the cockpit seem to surround the driver's seat. The conceptual model should also focus on the pro-ecological approach of the German brand for automotive construction. For example – the Audi e-tron GT concept has a whole "vegan" interior – animal products are not used here at all. Sophisticated artificial leather was used on armchairs and other surfaces. Recycled fiber fabrics were used to cover the seat cushions and armrests of the center console. Even long-haired bristles are made from durable Eletel fibers, made from recycled old fishing nets.

The drive consists of two non-stop synchronous electric motors, one for each axis. The power goes to all four wheels. Audi calls this system "electric quattro" because there is no mechanical connection between the front and rear axles. The operating mode of the drive and the coordination of the operation of the two axles and all the wheels belong to the electronic control and control system.

In total, the two training units reach an impressive power of 590 hp! The manufacturer promises that the production version will accelerate to 100 km / h in about 3.5 seconds. A sprint up to 200 km / h will take about 12 seconds. In the conceptual model, to ensure maximum range, the maximum speed was limited to 240 km / h.

The scope of the concept vehicle, defined in accordance with the assumptions of the new WLTP test cycle, exceeds 400 km. The energy comes from a lithium-ion battery with an energy capacity exceeding 90 kWh, occupying the entire area under the floor, from the front axle to the rear axle. The battery has an extremely flat structure. The advantage of such a construction is very small – comparable to the R8 – the center of gravity of the car, which provides great benefits during a dynamic driving. Tractive properties are also enhanced by the provision of four pivoting wheels.

The Audi e-tron GT Conceptual was created in close collaboration with the Porsche brand. Another common project of the development departments of Audi and Porsche is the new Premium Electric Platform (EPP). It will be the basis of many families of electric-powered Audi models – cars from the B-segment to the D-segment cars.
