BMW Headquarters in Munich
This is the first new production line that BMW has opened in Europe for almost 20 years. The factory is built about 200 km from Budapest. The opening is scheduled for the second half of 2019.
The new plant will be equipped with a single production line, of which 150,000 will be conducted each year.
The Hungarian factory has to produce combustion and electric models. Oliver Zipse, spokesman for BMW announces: "In the future, every European factory will be equipped to produce electric cars on par with traditional cars."
As group representatives say Hungarian factory is their first factory in Europe. In 2000, BMW launched a production line in Leipzig
