– The district court of the division Criminal Court of Hajnówka ended criminal proceedings because of my presence last June in the forest of Bialowieza! I was there with the film crew, doing a documentary "To the last tree", to see for myself what the cup looks like and what it's all about. Initially, I was fined, but after the opposition against the sentence, prepared by the lawyer Karolina Szulc-Nagłowska, the court of Hajnówka re-examined the case and decided that I did not break the law. Recall that Borys Szyc and the film crew stayed last June in the Białowieża Forest, where he shot the document "To the last tree". One of the local forest districts found that Szyc had violated the ban on entering the forest and brought the case to court. Similar cases have been reported to hundreds of other people who participated in last year's events for the defense of the forest, including journalists.

Aia Asé and Edward Porembny produced the document "To the Last Tree". Szyc is one of the narrators. The production attempts to present the issue of a dispute over the Bialowieza forest, showing the perspectives of ecologists and foresters.

The premiere of the film took place on July 3rd. Borys Szyc is not the only known character involved in safeguarding the Bialowieza Forest. Kinga Rusin, Marcin Dorociński and Maja Ostaszewska also spoke on this subject

In 2017, about forty interventions of the forest ranger took place in the forest of Bialowieza, sometimes in connection with police interventions – reports the PAP. Their effect was that the guards would send 351 requests for punishment to the court for offenses committed. The vast majority involved the violation of a temporary ban on access to the forest, where work machines – according to foresters – threatened the health and lives of others and prohibited the call of these places .

99 people also received police requests. In this case, the offenses consisted of violating public order, blocking traffic and not allowing the call of the area.
