The clashes between the supporters of AEK Athens and Ajax Amsterdam were already taking place the day before the match. In social media, several hundred AEK supporters witnessed recordings of the combined efforts of Ajax and Panathinaikos supporters. They played in one of the premises of the Greek capital. In this group, according to foreign information, several portals were also to be hooligans of Polish football. There was also information about an attempted retaliation and search for aggressors in the streets of Athens.

However, retaliation took place only on Tuesday, 27 November. Before the Champions League match, bottles, torches and even the Molotov cocktail flew to the visitors' area. It is almost certain that to allow such dangerous behavior, the Greek club will be severely punished by UEFA, and its stadium could be closed at subsequent matches of European competitions.

AEK Athens eventually lost against Ajax Amsterdam 0: 2. Both goals were won by Dusan Tadić. The loss of the Greeks meant that after five games, the Athens club had not scored a single point, noting the losses. Meanwhile, Ajax is sure to move on to the next stage of the competition.
