Last night, there was a tragic event. – An aircraft from the 22nd Tactical Air Base Malbork crashed. As a result of this incident, an experienced pilot, a soldier of the Polish army, lost his life – said Mariusz Błaszczak, the head of the Ministry of Defense yesterday at a press conference. The accident occurred at 1.57 a night near Pasłęk (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship). The pilot catapulted, but did not survive the accident.

He added that for him, as superior, as well as for all soldiers of the armed forces, a huge tragedy.
The head of the air operations council of the General Command of the Armed Forces, Colonel Maciej Trelka, reported that MiG-29 29 years old, it is a very safe aircraft. He noted that this is the first event of its kind on this type of aircraft.
