Doctors expect that in December, despite the new regulations, they will still take sick leave. Starting on Saturday, only the electronic L4 will be issued via the Internet. The medical organization agreement has just prepared new forms.
The doctors, whom our journalist spoke to, say that after December 1, they still have to issue sheets of paper. They argue that the preparation of electronic redundancies for many of them is technically impossible.
No internet access, no computers and no age – these are 90 year old doctors, because we have cases like this – explained Piotr Watoła, vice president of the National Union of Doctors.
In his opinion, e-layoffs are only a feasible idea in a few years.
Interestingly, Zakład Ubezpieczeń Zdrowotnych will not officially recognize L4 paper from December. ZUS must consult doctors who will issue redundancies on their own fingerprints. He assures however that patients will not suffer from this confusion.
ZUS President prof. Gertruda Uścińska announced that from 1 December, an employee and an employer could receive an SMS about the dismissal of a doctor. The message will include information about when and when the exemption will take effect. Such a possibility is offered by the insured person having a profile established on the ZUS electronic service platform.
We can activate the possibility of receiving an SMS to obtain a sick leave. From the doctor, the insured will immediately receive an SMS informing him that the doctor has issued him a certificate of incapacity for work and for how long. The employer can also activate the service of information via SMS on the sending of a medical certificate to his employee.
