For the "recommendations" of the Euronet ATMs, the first concerned the Bankier.pl portal. We also checked the machines encountered in this network and we also discovered such suggestions.

When cash withdrawals from Euronet ATMs, on the amount selection screen (other than the default ones – PLN 100, 200 PLN, etc.) information appears 1000 PLN maximum recommended payment amount for a transaction.

When despite this suggestion I wrote a higher sum, this time the information appeared on the screen … in English – that "the amount chosen exceeds the maximum recommended amount of PLN 1000 per transaction. " In addition, in Polish, there are options for the disbursement of the proposed sum of 1000 PLN or other amount.

I took a picture with a message in English on July 17, afternoon As I learned on July 18, Ewa Mizio³ek, Marketing and Sales Manager of Euronet Polska, was an "incidental technical error" that has already been repaired. ] – In all Euronet devices, there is a default language compatibility in the messages displayed on the screen – underlines Ewa Miziołek – at the same time, he asks that the irregularities or uncertainties related to the progress of transactions on devices belonging to the network are indicated by Telephone number at Euronet customer service (contact numbers: +48 801 324 024 and +48 22 519 77 71)

Payment of more than 1000 PLN in a Euronet ATM is always possible – the second time, the machine no longer suggests entering a lower value.

The single transaction limit is PLN 4,000

You may recall that last year Euronet carried out a pilot project in which, in some machines, it limited the payment to PLN 1,000 or less. . It was explained while only 5 percent. Payments amount to more than 1,000 PLN and, in addition, customers can still pay more than 1,000 PLN, but not within a single transaction, only a few.

Finally, after the pilot project, with plans to impose restrictions on the amounts of a single payment was dropped. As you can see, however, it was decided to replace them with a "recommendation" of a single payment of up to 1000 PLN. At the same time, Euronet has reinstated, on December 13 last year, the limit of single cash withdrawals from network ATMs in the amount of 4,000 PLN. – This is a permanent technical limit determining the maximum number of tickets that a machine can eliminate in one transaction. Customers can freely withdraw from the ATM machine from the amount of 1000 PLN. According to the procedure, among the proposed withdrawal amounts, the customer must select the "other amount" order, then enter the desired amount and accept it one by one – underlines Ewa Miziołek.

Battle of Automated Teller Machines

There is a kind of battle on the market for our presence and habits at ATMs. Banks want us to appear next to them (especially if they belong to a foreign network) as little as possible, and if they have already done so, they have immediately paid the highest sums . Why? For each payment from your customer, the bank must pay the owner of the ATM 1.20 PLN That is why the bank saves you if you pay "once and for all", for example, 200, 300 or 500 PLN instead of paying every few days, for example 50 or 100 PLN. Several banks – Alior Bank, mBank and Eurobank – have introduced payments for payments below 100 PLN. Regularly, as recently, banks have increased the withdrawal fees of "foreign" ATMs (by transferring the cost to their customers) or introduced additional terms of "free" ATMs – for example, an appropriate income on account and a relevant activity in fees

In our turn, for the ATM network, it would be better for us to carry out as many transactions as possible in the ATMs – just because of the flat rate of PLN 1.20 for the banks for each transaction customer. Therefore, the suggestion to "break" the higher amount for several disbursements, as in the case of Euronet.

Here, of course, a warning for bank customers – it's worth checking out what is for our accounts paying the withdrawal of a Euronet ATM, because paying 1000 PLN and 200 PLN instead of 1200 PLN per week, you can pay double for the commission!

According to the latest data from the National Bank of Poland, Banks are gaining the change of our habits at ATMs. The number of cash withdrawals in the first quarter of 2018 was the lowest in 10 years, while the total amount of disbursements is gradually increasing. In just four years, the average amount received from an ATM in Poland during the same transaction has risen from about PLN 380 to about PLN 480-500
