The building at Oświęcim station is burning. There are 7 firefighters on the site. Until now, there is no information on the victims. It is favored by the fact that there is a lot of paneling inside the building. Workers working on the reconstruction of the building lit the fire in the building of Oświęcim station. They did some welding work. The polystyrene foam insulated another part of the station from the sparks.

The building, which is disassembled, was built in the 1960s. Recently, most of them were unused and partially devastated. PKP originally had the intention of renovating it, but finally decided that it was not profitable. So they decided to demolish it and build a new station in its place. The demolition work started a few days ago. The new station is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2019.
