Among them, this year's absolute favorite: Paweł Pawlikowski's "Cold War" honored with the Palme d'Or for its staging in Cannes.

This is probably the most interesting festival of Polish cinema in years. we had no reason to complain. This time, however, we have a strong favorite, which has not only gone with the laurels of Cannes, where there was no Polish cinema for years, it is also mentioned by critics as the only one in the world. one of the main competitors in the Oscar main category. completely dominated by English productions. Overcoming such a giant will be extremely difficult.
In the main competition, we also have another image already sprinkled with laurels – we are talking about of course the famous" Face "from Małgorzata Szumowska Grand Jury Prize at this year's Berlinale. This year's Gdynia jury (whose composition will be known shortly before the festival) will not be an easy task.
In addition to the already known productions, the public will probably see the most anticipated title of 2018, "Kler" by Wojciech Smarzowski. on the problem of pedophilia in the Catholic Church. As usual, in the case of this director – a favorite, both viewers and critics, we will see an excellent cast of actors: Janusz Gajos, Arkadiusz Jakubik and Robert Więckiewicz.
"The purpose of our film is not to discuss the faith or criticism of believers. We consider that faith is one of the most intimate spheres of Every human being, a film is an artistic vision based on many real events, situations that took place somewhere and sometimes " – write on their film the creator of the" Clergy ".
Recognized Artists Competition
Two starts – in the main competition it is relatively small compared in previous years. This year, renowned designers dominate, many of whom have already left Gdynia with the Golden Lions.
So we have a new story about Adaś Miauczyński, hero of the cult series Marek Koterski, whose most famous title – "Dzień świra" brought the director to Gdynia the main prize. His last painting is entitled "7 feelings" and this time the hero returns in his childhood. He does this to "improve the quality of his adult life" and learn to experience seven fundamental feelings: fear, anger, sadness, joy, disgust, jealousy, shame. His "journey to the past" abounds in many comical situations as usual, but it also brings a lot of emotions. The main roles are played by Michał Koterski, Maja Ostaszewska, Adam Woronowicz and Małgorzata Bogdańska

A completely different cinema is proposed by a specialist in epic novels. It will be a story inspired by the real events of dramatic destiny and entangled Poles, Kashubians and Germans against the turbulent events of the first half of the twentieth century. The main protagonist is Mateusz Król (Sebastian Fabijański), a Kashubian boy who, after the death of his mother, is taken in charge by a Prussian aristocrat. In addition, Anna Radwan, Janusz Gajos and Borys Szyc appear in the lead roles
After years of silence, the new author also makes the cult author "Girls to take" Janusz Kondratiuk. His "bitter and sweet image of family relationships" under the title "Like a dog with a cat" was inspired by a real story. The creators announce the film as "an ironic vision of an unconventional family, with its conflicts and rivalries, not deprived of moments of emotion and real closeness". Olgierd Łukaszewicz, Robert Więckiewicz and Aleksandra Konieczna played the leading roles
. Directors as famous as Krzysztof Zanussi, Bartosz Konopka, Andrzej Jakimowski or even his second film "Fuga" Agnieszka Smoczyńska will appear in the competition with new films. the world of "Daughters of Dancy"

In the beginning, the first film of the famous actress Ewa Bukowska, this time debut on the other side of the camera. "53 wars" – premiere of the production of Karlovy Vary festival – is an adaptation of a book of the wife of the famous war correspondent Wojciech Jagielski, Aleksandra Jagielska. He talks about their life together – constant expectation, in an atmosphere of eternal fear for a beloved man. Damiana Nenow and Raúl de la Fuente, the debut of Ryszard Kapuściński's "Even a Day of Life", are also very interesting, as Magdalena Popławska, a partner of Michał Żurawski, recounts.

During the expedition, Kapuściński realizes that He is witnessing events whose significance will require going beyond the role of observer, which will allow him to be reborn both as a writer and as a writer. as a man.
