Grzegorz Grzyb was an excellent drummer, sideman and session musician. He was born on November 2, 1971 in Stargard Szczeciński. As a younger son and younger brother of a drummer, he has been playing on this instrument since a very young age.

At the beginning of the musical journey, swing and be bop inspired him the most. Later, he was fascinated by fusion music. As a great inspiration, he always mentioned Jaco Pastorius.

Grzegorz Grzyb was known for his collaboration with Zbigniew Namysłowski, Tomasz Szukalski, Wojciech Staroniewicz, Maciej Sikała, Sławomir Kulpowicz, Tymon Tymański, Leszek Możdżer, as well as many foreign musicians. He also worked with Zbigniew Hołdów and Edyta Górniak, among others.

Since 2008, he was a regular member of the famous Krakow Lab Group. In recent years, with Krzysztof Misiak and Filip Sojka, he has created the trio 3 Jazz Soldiers. He has also conducted workshops, notably at the Rock Garden Festival in Płock.

Grzegorz Grzyb's discography is extremely rich. In 1995, with the violinist Maciej Strzelczyk, he recorded the album "Music for M". The same year, the album "Luksus" by Muńka Staszczyk Szwagierkolaska also came out. This album received the prize of the Polish phonographic industry "Fryderyk" in the category "Album of the year". Also as part of Szwagierkolaski Grzegorz Grzyb in 1999 recorded the album "Kicha". In 1996 and 1999, with saxophone and flute Ryszard Borowski, he recorded "Les Nuits des flûtes" and "Mariage".

In 1999, he also appeared on the album "Mozart Goes to Jazz" by Zbigniew Namysłowski. In 2000, we heard on the album of Zbigniew Hołdys "Hołdys com.", And two years later appeared on the Oxen group album entitled "Nexo". In 2007 he participates in the recording of the album "EKG" of Edyta Górniak, and a year later he can be heard on the album "Hey Jimi – Polish guitars play Hendrix ". We often listened to Grzegorz Grzyb in Poznań. Most often, he appeared in the Blue Note club in various group compositions that occur there. On April 24, 2013, he plays with a rejuvenated composition of the legend of Polish progressive rock band Klan. We listened to the songs from the album "Mrowisko", but also albums "Why do I need this paradise?" And "Laufer".

On February 18, 2017, Grzegorz Grzyb participated in the project "Friends – The Music of Jarek Smietana", where the great Polish jazz celebrated the memory of an unforgettable Polish guitarist. However, on June 24, we listened to it in the composition of Zbigniew Namysłowski's quintet in pieces of the famous album "Polish Jazz". Yes! "

Grzegorz Grzyb's passion was cycling. Unfortunately, he will no longer ride on the bike and will not sit behind the battery.
